Supporting some of the largest home theaters, the AMP 10 16-Channel 200W Power Amplifier from Marantz makes for a fine addition to your home audio system, delivering a total of 16 separate speaker channel connections that take advantage of switchable unbalanced RCA or balanced XLR inputs. By default, you get a whopping 200W per channel at 8 ohms, but can utilize bridge mode to combine two channels for 400W per channel at 8 ohms. You also have the option of bi-amping if desired, further purifying your audio by separately driving high and low frequencies. On the front is a sleek metal face with a single porthole that houses a softly illuminated analog output meter.
Plenty of power for an array of speakers
The Marantz AMP 10 is an absolute beast of an amplifier that’s built to impress home theater lovers. It delivers clean, robust power into 16 channels, which can be configured for an expansive 15.2 surround-sound setup, or a muscular bi-amped 7.1 system. The amp’s beefy toroidal transformer, Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module, and current feedback amplification offer impressive accuracy and control under high-drive conditions.
Make the most of its power by pairing it with the Marantz AV 10 home theater preamp.
Convenient connections
Each channel features an unbalanced RCA input and a balanced XLR input, and the input to each pair is selectable via a handy switch. Another switch lets you control how each set of output terminals are configured: normal, bi-amp, or BTL. The ability to tailor how power is output allows your speakers to work hard and smart, so they can perform at their peak.
The back panel also gives you multiple options for controlling the amp. There’s a 3.5mm amp control input for syncing functions with a compatible preamp/processor, as well as a 3.5mm DC trigger input and output. If you use an IR flasher, there’s an input for that, too. You’ll also find a Marantz RCA remote control input and output and a multi-pin RS-232C port for third-party remote control.
